Info and Reviews
- Mark Settle’s Review on Scratchworx.com has geek Geek Not to be confused with freak; primarily solitary creature; habitats include living rooms, arcades and Dungeons & Dragons conventions; enjoys videogames, LOTR and Star Wars (except the really suxx0rz first three episodes) ; knows what’s cool even if others don’t get it; doesn’t give a shit who cares, because he’ll PWN their ass in a deathmatch anyways; chicks dig, even if they don’t admit level detail wrapped up with sarcasm, constructive honesty and just enough noob talk to keep everyone happy. Quite possibly one of the best and comprehensive reviews to date on the KO-1. He also took some amazing pictures

Tutorials and Tips
- Excellent, complete and comprehensive demonstration of the Kaossilator’s features and sounds (even if the beginning is a bit cut off). User “rc10t3” shows us some of the more interesting patches as well, such as S.70 BEAM SABER and S.75 VOICE LOOPER. Details the scale and arpeggiator functions with great demonstrations.
- Excellent video review and tutorial by MATRIXSYNTH Also has a fairly active comment archive around the tutorial.
- A great video documenting a hidden feature (16 beat looping) on the KO-1

Downloads
- Gary Kibler’s “The Yellow Album” A free download - The first album recorded exclusively on the Kaossilator
- Johan Larsby’s The Album K - Interesting use of sounds. He multitracked it, so it’s not typical 2-bar Kaoss-loop fare
Performances (video)
Electro Session : Adrian Bridger
In what is quite possibly one of the best Kaossilator performances documented on YouTube, Adrian Bridger demonstrates a true mastery of the KO-1 as a bona fide instrument geared towards live improvised electro. Simply outstanding.
Ghostradioshow VS Kaossilator
An inspired performance featuring excellent use of sounds and layering. Starts off fairly experimental and tweaky but gets more harmonious as the performance progresses. He even does a live “FIX” operation, changes the length of the loop in real time, performs some nice mutes and transforms - all while retaining the integrity of a smooth live performance!
Mister Funk feat. Miss Gilioux
Recorded for a web-based contest, this is one of the coolest, hippest and most seamless KO-1 performances on YouTube. Check his arrangement technique of building the loop, breaking down very sparsely with only a solo instrument, then bringing the loop back in to continue the build. Nice threads, too.
Dvorak Comes to Dinner
Check out “Mfdhdp”s very musical development of a theme and amazing accuracy when it comes to notes on the Kaossilator. He also virtually extends the sequencing/looping capabilities of the KO-1 by having a loop pre-made before starting, then, once he develops his loop, he does a live “cancel” operation to bring him back to the loop’s original state. Ingenious!
Kaossilator + KP3 : Denkitribe
A great performance by this veteran YouTube electronic music poster. Interesting extension of the Kaossilator performance to the Kaoss Pad.
Kaossilator + KP3 (2) - Denkitribe
One of my favorite Kaossilator performances on YouTube. Great artistic, melodic and textural sensibility. Again, excellent use of the Kaoss Pad as an arranging and effecting device.

Did I miss something? Post it below!

It was a thrill to get the music outside the (computer) box and into the hands of living, breathing humans. For me, it was a dream come true to hear my music come to life like that.
